Ceramics

Nic Harrison

Nic moved to Cornwall in 1975 with his wife Jackie, a handweaver.

Having completed a ceramics course at Cornwall College, he went on to train at The Leach Pottery in St Ives and was the last student to work as part of the production team, working with Janet Leach, Trevor Corser and Jason Wason.

In 1981, he set up his own workshop on the Trelowarren Estate on the Lizard Peninsula, producing individual stoneware ceramics and an extensive range of kitchen, domestic, oven-to-table stoneware pottery, until 2005. Nic’s thrown, reduction fired, individual stoneware ceramics was made in his studio at Penhale Jakes near Helston, Cornwall.

Here, he produced new work for Collection and Exhibition, supported by a range of useful oven-to-table kitchenware ceramics exploring the application of iron and cobalt oxides with Celadon and Tenmoku glazes, until June 2021.
